I am not a big movie buff, but when a friend invited me to go see “Avatar 3-D” with him last week, I decided to brave the holiday crowd and see if the film could live up to the hype. To my surprise, it did! A big factor that spurred me to see it was the 3-D element. As the technology continues to improve, it will be commonplace to see objects projected in their true depth perceptions. Ideally we will get to a point where you don’t have to wear the silly glasses. As video recorders add the capability of 3-D recording, we will have a surge of footage on youtube.com and other video sites. Websites will have 3-D enabled viewing. So instead of looking at conventional 2-D rotations of the latest gadget, you will be able to see all the angles in 3-D. Even the last Super Bowl had 3-D commercials (SOBE Lizard Commericial). I am excited for what lies ahead. If you haven’t seen “Avatar,” I highly recommend it. Just make sure to watch it in 3-D for Jason’s sake.
