So I’ve seen myself get into this trap again and again-as I am in the early stage of building a company-where I forget to take care of myself. What, with the 15 hour days and crazy schedule, I simply forget to go to the gym. And I’m not alone. Entrepreneurs will ignore their gym sneakers in favor of blackberries and laptops. We forget to take care of ourselves, and we forget to work out. I just want to express how important it is to clear out your mind. If you’re an entrepreneur, you’re undoubtedly working long hours. This kind of stress makes exercise more important than ever. Take one or two hours out of your day, and go to the gym. Do yoga. Jump on a bike. Do pushups. Do some sort of physical activity because I promise you, your return of investment from working out will be much greater than the two extra hours of coding or planning your strategy. It is crucial because (a) it mentally clears your mind, (b) it gives you an opportunity to reflect on the day, and (c) keeps you strong-did I mentioned looking good J. Some of the best strategies and processes that I’ve come up with have been at the gym or during my relaxation time. Don’t get me wrong. Still work your ass off. Still push. However, know that you are allowed to take a break and exercise for the betterment of your health. When you’re sitting on your island 30 years from now, you want to make sure you don’t have a heart attack. Stay healthy. Oh, and of course, eat right!
Work out so you don’t burn out!
