How many hours a day should you work on your startup?
All the books tell you a minimum of 18 hours a day most be spent on your business. I think that is just bogus... there is a clear difference between grunt and genius hours.
A grunt doesn’t take care of themselves, they work work and work some more. Every person has a breaking point, after the tenth hour trying to figure out which supplier to choose you start losing efficiency. Your brain creativity slows down, your mood takes a turn for the worst and your accuracy dwindles away.
A genius sleeps at 10pm wakes up at 6am, reads the paper, eats a well balanced breakfast, jogs around the block, reads their favorite mystery novel, efficiently works on their young startup and socializes with their friends/family.
Take away point of the day:
Balance your day out equally; sleep for eight hours, work for eight hours and socialize for eight hours.

true, but what if you have to balance all of that with your studies/school?
Dennis, you are absolutely correct! School does need to play a role with your day. I usually spend 2 hours on HW and 6 hours on my business.

lol, I laughed after reading that one. There's definitely a difference between working hard and working smart.
Also, I think it's agreed that you should fit your business into your life and not the other way around.
